Does your blog know what women want?

Apparently my blog knows what women like, or so I am told by Kirtsy who will be featuring my blog in their upcoming book Kirtsy Takes A Bow: A Celebration of Women’s Favorites Online (Bright Sky Press). While Kirtsy may be primarily for women, I’ve participated in the social network since the old days when it was called Sk-rt [note: "old days" in Web 2.0 time refers to 2007 when it was founded]. It seems my blog was one of the most popular with their users so Tracksuit CEO is getting featured in the book. I am incredibly flattered by the recognition and I hope it will give me some street-cred with the 3 women I live with.

I can’t say enough good things about niche Social Networks. Do you think Digg would ever feature your blog in a book? Would you even want your blog to be in this hypothetical Digg book? Digg is great for sending massive low-quality traffic but I advise people to spend most of their time and energy on a handful of smaller social communities. The infamous Andy Hagans has a great list of niche Social Networking sites that are worth exploring. Hagans is a man who made his fortune scamming Digg users into sending traffic to his clients’ websites and yet he sees the value in using these niche communities. The smaller, more focused communities are where you will get the most feedback, the best quality traffic and the best sense of . . well  . . community. I just talked with a client of mine this morning about the virtues of Care2 and immediately sent her over to have a look. Care2 is a very strong online community based around philanthropy, sustainability and basically doing good in the world . . . hey, I wonder if they have a book coming out?

    Great set of links!
As an aside, we developed our site b/c of at least one observation regarding women and the
    “dating game”
They want a level of anonymity when using online dating sites, hence:

    http://www.hookupdigits.com

Safe, free, anonymous phone numbers for use online :)

    Gook luck out there!
